[Dying hurts doesn't it? Feeling such horrible pain as you realize that you're breathing your last moments. It makes someone wonder about what would be waiting for them in the beyond. Some would say there is an afterlife and it would depend on how you acted that decides where you will stay for the rest of eternity. But is it fluffy clouds and wings or pitchforks and brimstone? Will you remember anything that was once missing?

Not in your case. There's no clouds or fire nor any of your missing memories restored. Ain't that a bitch.

When you come to, you will be lying on a futon and tucked in like you had fallen asleep there all long. You will also notice that your clothes have been replaced with simple cotton shirts and trousers (for both men and women, hey we feel the ladies can wear pants too!) for better movement. But in Vita's case, probably a blessing considering. But something will stick out about yourselves: any wounds you had on you are now gone and healed. The room itself is simple with a couple floor lamps, a floor length mirror, a window, and a dresser but there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary-wait, a window?

Yes, there is one and when you look out of it, it's sunny. Not only that but there are signs of trees and a river flowing around where you are at. So there are two big things that you will now realize: This is most definitely not near the Base

And...you're not alone.]





(OOC: Welcome to Deadland everyone! This is the overall mingle log for Round 3 and due to the nature of it, this will be a bit more relaxing than the game itself. And since the setting is different from the Base, here are the places where your characters will be able to go to:

EXTERIOR:

-The Temple: Your place of residence for the duration. Unlike the Base which is constantly in a strange futuristic setting, this has the feel of a much simpler time.

-Outhouse: Where you can go to the bathroom. There's only one but thankfully it's actually got plumbing. Just a toliet and sink to clean up once you're done with your business.

-Baths: Or rather one bath. Not many folks live here after all. However, the tub is large enough to fit several people and and there is a box where soap and shampoo is stored.

-River: This river seems to be where a lot of folks like to wash up on. It's really weird according to the one who is living here.

-Pink Pond: ...no seriously, there is some weird pond in the back of the temple with a pink colored something. Are you brave enough to take a dip or a taste?

-Vegetable Garden: A large plot of land behind the temple is reserved for growing various vegetables. You have the normal kinds such as eggplants and carrots and celery but then there's smaller trees that grow warm bread and al dente noodles. We are not joking. And they are delicious.


INTERIOR

-Strangers' Room: This is a large room where the Strangers will be sleeping in throughout their stay. There is a dresser large enough for storing things if they wish to do so but it's mainly for extra clothing. The beds here are not bunks but rather the futons they will wake up on. It's easily foldable and there's no set spaces where you are able to sleep. And yes, both men and women will be sharing this room so I hope you kids have some manners and try not to peep on the other like a bad harem anime trope.

-Kitchen: 'Rustic'...is one way to describe it. But hey, at least there's an ice box to keep things frozen, counters to chop things up, tools to do cooking in, a sink with plumbing, and a fire burning stove. Just clean up after your mess, no one wants to disappoint the person living here.

-Hallway Closet: A walk in closet where extra futons, blankets, and towels are stored. Nothing fancy.

-Locked Room: ???

-Pink Bedroom: Someone lives here and would appreciate it that no one snoops through her things.

-Main Hall: A large room that also works for meetings and gatherings. And for fighters, a good place for sparring. There's several wooden poles for training but that seems to be it.

[Vita will be the last to arrive, but once she's there she will want to take a closer look and help as much as she can, despite being the smallest one of the group. So what does this large thing look like?]

[It's block-like and has several different colors along the way: yellowish, black, red, and brown. Height wise, it appears to be 22 feet high.]

[ He kinda just... wants to walk over and touch it.

... So, he's gonna do that now, if he can? ]

[He can! It's cool to the touch but it's definitely metal.]

[Naoya is going to be a little bit more careful and find a branch with which to prod it a bit.]

[If it was an animal, how much do you wanna bet it would chase after him?

But alas, no movement.]

[All right, fine. He's going to start looking for any seams or markings that might give a clue as to what it is.]

[Well, Vita does want to poke at it, but first she's going to look and see if any part looks different than the rest and poke at that. Like are there any buttons or controls?]

[No controls to be seen but the color varies between the locations: one section is a lighter yellow while another is a darker yellow and some stray part further is red.]

Hmm, did you find anything?

I'm not sure... it's strange. There's no sort of marks that indicate what it is. It's just a giant cube. Hm.

[He glances around and his gaze falls on Akira.]

One of us should lift the other to see if we can spot something on top.

[ His eyebrows lift a bit. A small smirk is given. ]

Need a lift, then? Doubt we'll be able to see the very top, but standing on my shoulders might help.

If we stand back a little, we might be able to.

[And as soon as Akira gets into position, Naoya will climb up behind him and stand on his shoulders easily. What can he see?]

Um...is that a good idea...?

[She looks around and makes a quiet "Oh!" sound as she grabs a large piece of scrap metal and pushes it so it lies on the side of the weird metal thing.]

This has dents that we can use for climbing and it's tall enough to touch the top. We may need the rope just in case.

[Which is true. Considering the height is 22 feet then with both boys looking up, there wasn't going anything new to see. Meanwhile, Kerri is going to use the makeshift stairladder to head on up.]

[ Shhh Kerri it's fine, they're good at this. ]

Well, that just takes the fun out of it.

[ He's joking, of course. After letting Naoya down, he's going to head over to the makeshift stairladder! There's a sort of... mock gentlemanly gesture at Naoya and Vita, implying he's cool with them going last!

... It may or may not be so that he can catch either of them if something goes wrong, but he's not going to say that out loud. ]

[He chuckles a little bit. ... Hm. Maybe he should wait for Vita to - nah.]

[He scrambles up after Kerri, going to attempt to stand on the top of the cube and poke around at it, see if it feels any different... and see if he can spot anything new while he's up here.]

[Once everyone is up, Kerri will nod and turn towards the others.]

Wow, this looks much bigger than I thought. I can go look at this thing further down and you three can take a look in this area. We'll be able to learn more that way.

[And she starts to move further away to try and find anything she can. So...where would you like to start?]

[ He's going toooo.... start at the halfway point between where Kerri headed and where the group started out!

Anything to mess with around here? Alternatively, any cool details to note? ]

[There is a handle of some kind, right under and next to where Vita is standing.]

[Well, then Vita will step aside and try pulling on the handle. So what happens then?]

[The good news is that the lever did reveal a way inside the metal thing.

The bad news is that Vita was standing on it and now has no support. But it isn't anything really bad considering that after falling down, she will land on something soft. A chair actually. If anyone else wants to get down there, they will need the rope.]

[Well, at least she landed on a chair, but she probably did alert everyone to what she found with a surprised yelp.]

I'm okay! You guys should use the rope to come in.

[And she'll go ahead and try to look around that. What is she seeing in here?]

[For starters, there's a control panel close by where she is.]
