[When the doors open, the killed also find themselves allowed into the Room of Reckoning as well. And - similar to the living - they, too, have a table, with their own names and places and sitting pillows. They, too, receive the note on their phones with a ping.
The dead, however, have something else that the living do not have.
They can see that there is someone sitting on the gold pillow by the stairs.]

Re: Meguca ping
My story...it’s more complicated.
[She looks down, at this.]

[ Helena sighs, irritated. ]
Because if not, I think I have the time to listen. I'm dead and all that.

...
Maybe...hmm.
What if I let you experience what I mean?

[ She has no hesitation about that. Whatever Kana is about to... do to her? Beam into her brain? Whatever? Whatever Kana is about to do to her can't be that much worse than spending a month in this mall, dying and fighting a literal angel which lead to almost dying again.
Helena has reached a point of done-ness where she feels prepared for pretty much anything. ]
[1/???]
There is a brief headache, a stab in the temple, and then...and then--
[2/???]
Make a contract with me, and become a magical girl!"
[The cat is saved. The cute black cat named Amy. And now, Madoka can use her bright Soul Gem to fight the creatures that curse human kind with negative feelings: the Witches. And the greatest Witch is the rotating monster known as Walpurgisnacht.
There is only one month to prepare. She does so with her newest fellow magical girl, fighting abominations beyond imagination within their labyrinths. She even meets a new student at her school: Homura Akemi.
Then Walpurginacht came. Madoka fought. She died to destroy the greatest Witch.
That should have been the end.]
[3/???]
Homura Akemi makes a wish.]
"I want to redo my meeting with Madoka Kaname. But this time, instead of her protecting me, I want to protect her!"
[The month repeats. Madoka has still contracted, but this time, Homura is there to help her with her powers. They defeat Walpurgisnacht...and Madoka lives.
But this time...her Soul Gem turns black and changes. Her body dies, but her soul...fulfills its real purpose.
A magical girl doesn't just fight Witches, after all.
No.
They are the very thing which fills the world with curses...]
[4/???]
Homura tries to warn the girls, now numbering five. She is not believed. The girls learn the truth, eventually, and one goes mad, killing all but two. Madoka is forced to end her life.
Walpurgisnacht is defeated, and Madoka is starting to turn into a Witch. She saved Homura, and is ended.
The month repeats. This time, Homura manages to prevent Madoka from contracting. She saves Amy. But then, Madoka eventually contracts. She becomes the Witch.
The month repeats. This time, Madoka contracts to save a girl from being killed by a Witch and dies in battle. The month repeats. Madoka contracts to save another girl from becoming a Witch. The month repeats.
Its an abnormal month, as another magical girl realizes the threat Madoka represents - the Witch Madoka becomes is taller than a building. She doesn't contract. But the girl kills Madoka. The month repeats.
Repeat. Homura is forced to reset after Madoka contracts. Repeat. The Witch is now taller than Everest. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat...]
[5/???]
[Karma now surrounds Madoka. In this timeline, she could become a god if she so chose.
And despite Homura's efforts, she makes her wish.]
"I wish I had a power to erase Witches before they're born. Every single Witch from the past, present and future, everywhere!"
[Instantly, it happens. Madoka's wish is so powerful, so hopeful, that every girl who ever became a magical girl finds themselves visited by Madoka. Famous people, unknown people - all magical girls. All of their despair was taken in by what Madoka created.
Even Madoka's Witch, a being so powerful it could wipe out the universe. This new creation takes it away as well - and erases Madoka from known reality. Instead, there is a new layer of reality, a new concept, which shoulders this despair with supreme hope, beyond the physical universe. A place where magical girls are taken to heaven when their magic runs out.
This being is a Law.
And Madoka is forgotten...]
[6/6] SPOILERS
Madoka tries to save Homura from her despair. Concocts a plan to personally go to Homura in her time of need. And, when she is saved from her Witch, she comes to conduct Homura personally into heaven...
Homura grabs her hands.]
"I finally...have you."
[Reality cracks. She cracks. She begs Homura to let go, but she just...holds...on...until finally.
She splits. Her hands disappear, for they were Madoka's hands, and Madoka is now in Homura's arms. All of Homura's curses suddenly pulse forward, enveloping the field, the world, the universe. Until everything is covered in a barrier.
All except the goddess created by the wish. She drifts as she feels her core in Homura's grip, suppressed and unable to reunite with her. The pieces of her that had gone down to help Homura are also trapped. She can only watch, now...and do nothing, for Homura's power comes from something she claims is stronger than all the hope in the universe.
She has lost her hands. Her heart. Her purpose.
She is alone.
That loneliness still pervades as Helena finds herself back in the room, no time having passed.]

She gasps as she returns to the here and now, and for a moment she can do nothing but stare into Kana's face and try to process all the memories that aren't her own, that aren't solid enough to fully grasp and that yet she can feel in their essence...
Helena pulls Dio's jacket tighter around herself, though she isn't precisely cold. ]
... and now you're here.
[ It's all she can manage to say for a moment, a bit hoarse. ]
... why?
no subject
The people who found me asked if I was willing to help with making another miracle.
And I ended up here.

[ The dry comment is mainly to buy her time, as this conversation has very quickly grown far, far over Helena's head. Again. Every time she thinks she has grasped the reality of the worlds it slips through her fingers again. We really never stop learning, huh? ]
... are we like you were? Do we need to be at the center of pain and suffering to grow stronger?
no subject
I want to think that because I believe in all of you.

[ Helena stares at the ground for a bit. ]
I'm not like you at all.
[ In many, many, many ways. ]
I don't believe that hope is what we need. I don't even believe in everyone here. And I am not the kind of person who would lie about any of that.
[ She crosses her arms over her chest, fingers digging deep into her own body. ]
Yet we've still been fighting for the same goal the entire time. Isn't it dramatic irony at its finest?
[ If there is another God, above the Goddess in front of her... maybe the God that Dio's "Brother" has heard... does this amuse them? Helena is not a religious person at all, but after fighting Luciel and getting a glimpse into Kana's head, she can't help but wonder a little. ]
This isn't even the social revolution I dreamed of. Fixing this does nothing about the corrupt state of the worlds around us. However, it cannot be helped that in order for a world's society to be rebuild from the bottom, there needs to be a world to start with.
[ And that makes Noise her highest priority to get rid of. Neo Yokio had been a small cage and the world, no, the worlds... they're huge and endless and full of conflict. Simply boycotting all of it, simply rejecting all of it... It's by-standing, it's complacent. The Bachelor Board had just been the beginning. Helena St. Tessero would have to do much much more than that. Or die trying. Again. And maybe again and again and again, who knows? She huffs, but then she gives Kana a small, small smile in return. ]
Whatever lies ahead, I'll see it through to the very end. Thank you for sharing your memories. Your dedication has earned my respect.
