[You Are Dead.

Your last thoughts before the finishing blow may differ as well as if you had felt any pain or not. Let's be real, folks have been extra in the mansion so it's more than likely some crazy way to go. What can you do about that? But if you were thinking that death involves going to a place filled with fire and brimstone or a place filled with fluffy clouds and golden gates...sorry to disappoint.

When you wake up, the first thing you will notice is how cold you feel. Whatever you were wearing before, it will not protect you against the snow and wind. Nothing was taken from you but you cannot help but feel for some reason, it feels like your privacy was violated. But that's small potatoes compared to where you happen to wake up: a hole in the ground. Just a typical average sized human sized hole, no big deal.

Once you get out from your 'comfy' hole, you will see markers by each hole...best not to think about those and focus on finding shelter for now. You might want to be aware of that massive tornado that can be seen from your wake up points. Try NOT to leave by swimming into the water behind said points.

... I don't deal with emotions well. I guess... the man who raised me... he's not really my father, but he raised me. He's Kana's dad. He... treated me more like a student than a son. I know I don't react like other people do.

I just... notice the details and put them in my brain. I remember things. I don't... I guess I have a lot on my shoulders. Even if I fought to protect people, I deserve to be dead for how many people I killed.

[ Even for where her head is resting against his shoulder right now, she manages to give it a slight, but visible shake. ]

[ A moment follows that and her shoulders fall slightly, her tears slowing a bit now. Something has her clutching a little bit where her hands are resting, unwilling to move now for a reason. ]

Depends on the type of fighting... I... saved the world once and the one person who I wanted to see me do it... wasn't there anymore and it was my fault. If I had to fight and it would bring her back... i'd do it.

[He's a little surprised, but he shakes his head slightly.]

[ The soft trembling of her shoulders should say how she's crying again, soft sniffles escaping her. She hasn't told a single soul about this since she arrived here. ]

If it wasn't for me... she wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself to protect me. I... I didn't deserve that kindness... she died because of me...

[He freezes, looking down at her.]

[She's Kana. Not really, but she's too kind. Taking everything on herself and asking nothing in return, taking abuse from others with a smile. He reaches out and lifts a hand to smooth her hair down, like he should have done so many times before, like he should have done to Kana without hurting her...]

[He takes a few deep breaths, leaning down to rest his head against hers.]

I don't think... anyone can go through life without messing things up. ... I know I messed up a lot. Some mistakes are bigger than others. But if she died protecting you... she... I guess she thought you were someone worth protecting. And I... I think she was right.

[ For such simple gestures, they really did help in their own ways. Mostly in that the comfort itself was warm and let her know she wasn't dealing with this all on her own right now.

He not only listened but was actually here and helping her out. Even if she did briefly still for a second, allowing those words to sink in before finally finding her voice again. ]

[ It's rare for her to actually voice these things about herself. She's normally very proud of her skills but right now she doesn't feel that way at all. ]

She didn't have to. But she did. Just because someone's better at something... you don't... have to be the best at everything. And... sometimes stubborn and impulsive are what you need.

[They could have gotten an army officer, but they would have hesitated at the damage to civilian life...]

[ Hearing someone else say it was very grounding; something she slowly realized after he'd said it. Nobody she knew could say they were nearly as recklessly impulsive as she was, headstrong and stubborn to the point that her friends would say was sometimes too much.

Ursula saw something in her and trusted her to find all seven words of Arcturus, when she could have chosen someone like Diana. Even with her mentor gone from this world, Akko still had managed to restore magic to the world when it'd seemed impossible. ]

I... I think you're right.

[ Her voice was shaky but seeming to lose a little of it's sadness now as well. It's not hard for her to bounce back, really. ]

She... saved me because she probably saw something I can't. I... I'm impulsive and really stubborn b-but that's not entirely a bad thing. We all have flaws but we're still here and stronger than we think, even for what we went through.

[That's... okay. More anime than how he meant it to come off, but whatever.]

[He gives her back a little pat, hesitantly.]

... Would making a grave for her help you feel better?

[ It's at his last question that Akko finally moves enough to carefully pull back so she can look at him with imploring crimson eyes. Pain still is reflected behind them somewhat but they don't inherently seem as sad as they had been before. ]

That's a good idea. I mean... [ She inhales deeply before exhaling it with a small smile in place. ] Yeah. I... think it would. It's the least I could do for her.

[ Gosh she's never made one so this's not gonna be easy but she wants to do it. ]

Come on. Let's go inside and find something to mark it with. Either some kind of wood or... something that reminds you of her.

[He stands a little unsteadily, brushing snow off of his pants.]

Kind of wish I had that jacket...

[ Nodding in agreement, Akko pulled herself to her feet and brushed any snow off of her clothes as well. ]

[ Then he mentions the coat and she blinks a couple of times almost owlishly. ]

I can give you that coat I lent you last time, if you want.

No, I can just... use some blankets. I used to have... well, it was Kanji's jacket. He was... one of my only friends, I guess. He went before Kana did. It was a good jacket, though. Warm with some patches... I looked stupid in it, but...

Why does that matter? It was warm and had sentimental value to you so I wouldn't worry about what others thought about how you looked while wearing it.

[ Gonna just flash a smile following that, nodding her head without a moment's pause. ]

[Just gonna start to move to head in for blankets.]

I know. It's more... he had more muscles than me? So it kind of flops a little.
