[You Are Dead.

Your last thoughts before the finishing blow may differ as well as if you had felt any pain or not. Let's be real, folks have been extra in the mansion so it's more than likely some crazy way to go. What can you do about that? But if you were thinking that death involves going to a place filled with fire and brimstone or a place filled with fluffy clouds and golden gates...sorry to disappoint.

When you wake up, the first thing you will notice is how cold you feel. Whatever you were wearing before, it will not protect you against the snow and wind. Nothing was taken from you but you cannot help but feel for some reason, it feels like your privacy was violated. But that's small potatoes compared to where you happen to wake up: a hole in the ground. Just a typical average sized human sized hole, no big deal.

Once you get out from your 'comfy' hole, you will see markers by each hole...best not to think about those and focus on finding shelter for now. You might want to be aware of that massive tornado that can be seen from your wake up points. Try NOT to leave by swimming into the water behind said points.

Better hurry.]

[He's fine with that and honestly prefers people use his first name, so he won't bother to correct her.]

Not as terrible as I woke up at least. [He'll even try to give her a smile because she did seem like a sweet child who doesn't need to hear about all that terrible stuff, but it's likely obvious he's not quite feeling it yet.]

That's definitely an improvement, I think.

[ With what she's been through in her time since arriving here, Akko probably could handle the stuff that's on his mind but she isn't gonna push him to talk about it until he wants to. ]

Is there anything at all I can do to help? I know the situation here isn't great but I'll do what I can.

[ If morale is kept up, they'll be able to get through this a little easier. At least that was how she saw it. ]

You didn't see how bad it was getting in the mansion. Nearly all of us were losing it and were having trouble telling what was real and what wasn't. That seems to have let up.

[He gets that morale is important and he was one of the people who did their best to keep it up back home.]

I think I just need to find something to keep my mind from going to how badly everything went. I've always told my friends that you just need to find the humor in things and you can get through it, but I can't find it in this situaiton. I can't even say "at least I'm not dead" because I am.

[ Akko's eyes widened, remembering what it was that Maka had told her and the others about the Madness and how it affected others. Everyone still living was enduring that right now? ]

...I'm sorry. I didn't realize things had gotten that bad for you guys.

[ Biting her lower lip briefly, she fidgeted a little as her brows drew together into a concerned frown. At least that was before Akko moved forwards and around to where he was sitting, giving him the best hug she and her tiny self could muster. ]

It won't change anything, you know. Dwelling on the past is gonna make it so you can't move ahead. I totally get that... just... please try and not beat yourself up about it, okay?

[He's about to tell her she doesn't need to apologize and then she starts hugging him. It's nice and he wants to return the hug, but after seeing all of his friends except Arthur hate him for what happened, he can't help but think that she must not know he's the culprit and not an innocent like Zelda.]

I normally don't dwell on what I can't change, but you do know I'm the one who killed him, right? The rest of them hated me for killing a child to save my world and then failed at that and condemned two innocents in the process.

[ If Thanatos thought she was going to suddenly hate him or regret what she'd done because of what he'd told her, he'd be wrong. Akko shook her head and exhaled a soft breath as she closed her eyes. ]

You say that and yet I don't see them here. They didn't die because of you.

[ She's an optimist at heart. That won't change any time soon. ]

I don't hate you for what you did. You were made desperate in a way you never wanted to be and put in a tight spot. I also can guess Jun was just the first to come along at the time and you never intended to seek him out to kill him to start with, plus... if he can be killed by you and he doesn't hate you then why should I?

[Considering how quickly his friends in there turned on him? Of course he suspects such a thing may happen and would rather it happen now than later when it would hurt far more. When she says she doesn't hate him and actually realizes that yes, he wouldn't have chosen a child like Jun, he feels some relief and decides to return the hug.]

Not only was he the first to be found alone, but I saw someone else when I shot at him. If I'd have seen him, I doubt I would have been able to make the shot.

[ Feeling him finally accept the hug and return it, Akko couldn't help but smile rather brightly as it meant what she said had gotten through to him. ]

See? You're not as horrible a person as you made yourself out to be.

[ After a moment she finally pulled back, still beaming in that ridiculously positive way of hers. ]

This whole situation is a crazy mess but if we just let it get to us, then those guys and their lady come out as the winners. We don't want that, do we?

Try telling that to the others. I didn't like being driven to sacrifice a few to save many, but given the possibility I couldn't just sit back and do nothing. That's letting far more people just stop existing, including at least hundreds of children.
