Welcome to Dead
[You Are Dead.
Your last thoughts before the finishing blow may differ as well as if you had felt any pain or not. Let's be real, folks have been extra in the mansion so it's more than likely some crazy way to go. What can you do about that? But if you were thinking that death involves going to a place filled with fire and brimstone or a place filled with fluffy clouds and golden gates...sorry to disappoint.
When you wake up, the first thing you will notice is how cold you feel. Whatever you were wearing before, it will not protect you against the snow and wind. Nothing was taken from you but you cannot help but feel for some reason, it feels like your privacy was violated. But that's small potatoes compared to where you happen to wake up: a hole in the ground. Just a typical average sized human sized hole, no big deal.
Once you get out from your 'comfy' hole, you will see markers by each hole...best not to think about those and focus on finding shelter for now. You might want to be aware of that massive tornado that can be seen from your wake up points. Try NOT to leave by swimming into the water behind said points.
Better hurry.]

I did. It was kind of on accident at first, as I was outside and followed this odd feather and it lead me to Maka in this igloo, and there was another one so I picked it up too! She left and wandered over to the ruins of some boat so I followed her.
[ She held up a hand and looked at it briefly before shaking her head. ]
There was another feather there and I picked it up. Only then did I realize they were all glowy when near Maka, and when one of the feathers touched her? She suddenly was a little better and the feather disappeared, so I touched the other two to her and she was then like how she is now!
[ There! She's said her explanation, all bright eyed and happy about it. ]
no subject
Fine. If there’s anyone I think I can believe would be able to do that, it would be Atsuko. Though if we ever find someone that can give you a good check up, I’d appreciate it if you would comply.
[She trusts Atsuko, but she also likes the opinion of a professional.]
Now, there is an important thing that must be brought up; your schooling.
You are not going to have any problems with Atsuko here, correct?
[Her tone...definitely aggressive, but she’s not being overtly threatening. Probably because Atsuko is being friendly with her, but always better to be safe than sorry.]
no subject
Because she's a witch?
[Wild guess.]
We actually talked about that before getting everyone together. I can't very well hurt someone who helped me.
As for these feathers...if they helped me with my Madness and Akko mentioned about having hallucinations, then it's possible that these things can help get rid of Madness.
no subject
[She’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her, though, just in case.]
So, if we have to deal with anyone else afflicted with this Madness, we should try to find feathers like these? Any idea where we could find more of them?
[Maybe they could collect them, just in case!]
no subject
I don't but I'm sure if we search around, we'll be able to find some.
no subject
[That much she’s sure of, at least.]
Now, can you give us any information about where we are? I have an idea, but the...um...moon makes me have doubts.
[what the FUCK is up with that thing]
no subject
The moon has always been like that. At least ever since before I was born. As for where we are, considering that tornado outside, we must be on Lost Island. It's up north from Alaska and it's in the middle of the ocean.
[In other words: they stuck.]
no subject
[Freaky moon gets to stay freaky!]
Then, unless we can somehow manage to get this thing back in the air, the likelihood of us getting rescued isn't very high, I assume?
And this does raise the question of why we're on an island near Alaska rather than some form of afterlife.
no subject
Well, we are dead so...
[/shrug]
no subject
[Yeah, she realizes that was a bit of a dumb question. But it does raise another one.]
So the afterlife here is just...coming to on an island somewhere near Alaska? Or is this a special case?
no subject
[Can't be as dumb as some other ones.]
I don't know what the afterlife really has but this is definitely something different. We all showed up on this island but why? Is it because we were killed here?
no subject
[Not trying to be snarky-she just feels like most people are not going to be inclined to go into detail about the circumstances of their death.]
As for the rest of us, it's more or less a toss up. We have no idea where that mansion was, though it should be mentioned there wasn't any snow...also, I don't think there was a stationary tornado anywhere nearby.
[Though, if her tone is anything to go by, she's not entirely sure about it.]
1/2
Well...I'll be honest, if what happened to me will help everyone understand then I am willing to share. I'm used to being around Death and Madness; it's the world I was born into.
[There's no sign that she is lying. Despite keeping up a small smile, at the mention of her death, there's pain in her eyes as if that it should not be told but Maka knows better. She couldn't be that person who ran away from her problems. Not anymore even in death.]
This is going to sound very strange and I'm no expert but I'm only saying this because I experienced it but...
2/2
Do you or anyone here know about time travel?
no subject
I've heard of the concept, though never heard of it being a reality. And I'll admit, it is strange, but considering I've now experienced coming back from the dead, it's not so insane any more.
[Well, that...may or may not be a big bombshell to drop here.]
Can you explain how it has significance here?
BEEP BEEP EXPOSITION DUMP
[She nods and faces everyone. Strap in kids, it's Storytime.]
I'm going to say a lot of things here so if you need me to repeat anything, feel free to let me know. Let me first explain about the world before getting to the time travel but I swear it will lead into it.
From when I was born and even earlier than that, the world was covered in Madness. There was no protection against its influences save for one lone place: Death City, protected by Lord Shinigami. When I had lost my mom, she told me to go there to find my dad, to seek protection. Even as a great meister, she couldn't hold off the monsters and I found myself running away alone, to hide when I could from the group who looked for promising meisters and weapons to join them--they were from Arachnophobia, a group in service to the witch, Arachne. It's because of her as well as another, the Kishin Asura, that the Madness has spread so wide. When I was running to Death City, I met someone who without his help, I would not have been able to make it: my partner and weapon, Soul Evans. We've been together ever since and we were paired as a meister and weapon duo when we became students at DWMA. Our goal was to try and protect the innocent from the Madness and Arachnophobia...it's all we knew.
That was until one day I looked into a mirror and instead of my reflection staring back at me, it was something else: it was me but on an Earth where the Madness wasn't so consuming...happier actually. It made me angry to see it. That it wasn't fair that the Maka in the mirror had her friends and mom still there and happy-! It wasn't too long until Lord Shinigami told us about an anomaly that was making this world not right and creating a plan to stop it: to go back in time to 800 years ago and end it there. When Soul and I stepped up to go, we were warned of possibly not being able to return but it's a small price to pay to save the world. How we got there was the Magic Tool called BREW; if I were to explain it...it could grant your deepest desires and we wanted to go back in time to stop this from starting.
However, once we got to the past...we failed.
no subject
Yeah, this time, she can't even bring back her composure after that, because that sounds...utterly horrifying. To the point where, if she were a more emotional woman, she might try to give Maka a comforting hug.
As it is, she'll just stare for a good minute before coming up with a response.]
Well, you, uh...you have my condolences...for all of these tragedies.
[Trying to be sympathetic, but...she's really not sure how to handle this? what do you tell a girl that's lived with tragedy for pretty much all her life]
Also, that would mean we're 800 years in the past now, correct? Or at least we were when we were alive?
no subject
[Nodding.]
Here is my world's present day.
no subject
I'm not sure how much sense that makes, dying in the past, only to end up in the present here, but again, considering the other circumstances, I can believe it.
Is there anything we can do, at this point, to fix the situation? Or is it more or less out of our power now?
[She'd prefer not leave this world so...messed up]
no subject
All we can do is hope that those still alive can do something about it.
[It's out of their hands now.]

So it's that group and that witch who's responsible for what happened in not only your world but is responsible for bringing me and the others to that mansion?
[ Her head almost hurts after processing all of that. ]
So we were WAAAAY back in the past and you guys had meant to stop it an-- [ Wait if they both failed and they were here, they'd died. Then the possibility of something she'd seen in the game room could be... OH. Ha Ha... she looks almost sick now. ] I really... really hope the skeleton I saw in the game room didn't belong to you or your partner...
no subject
I really don't want to know what they did to be honest.
